NIWA Climate Files

NIWA (National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research) climate files are specific weather and climate research datasets for 18 specific locations across New Zealand. These files contain detailed meteorological data collected from various weather stations and observation points. They typically include information on temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, solar radiation, precipitation, and other atmospheric variables.

The NIWA Typical Meteorological Years climate files available on Speckel were developed for the New Zealand Home Energy Rating Scheme (NIWA, October 2008). More files can be found on climate.onebuilding.org.
