Zone Control Thermostat

Advanced HVAC, along with all other EnergyPlus HVAC templates in Speckel, employ the EnergyPlus ThermostatSetpoint:DualSetpoint object. This sets heating and cooling setpoint temperatures with a defined deadband.

Unlike other software, EnergyPlus doesn't allow direct adjustment of the 'throttling range' or 'control tolerance' on the thermostat object. Instead, the control response in EnergyPlus depends on the specific HVAC components serving the zone.
