Contact Resistance

In NZS 4214:2006 "Thermal insulation - Housing and small buildings," Contact Resistance refers to the thermal resistance caused by the contact between two surfaces. It aims to account for the reduction in thermal conductivity due to air gaps or imperfect contact between insulation materials and building components.

To assume a Contact Resistance, navigate to the Module settings and left-click the checkbox. This allows a 'Contact Resistance' to be included in any Wall, Roof, or Floor System and will increase Total R-value.
