Our Building Assessment and Wall Systems approaches offer the capability to conduct upfront and operational life cycle assessments for individual building elements and entire buildings. Our embedded product databases support these assessments, which include BRANZ, EPiC, Building Transparency, and ICE.

To assist users in performing these assessments, we provide 60-minute workshops. These workshops are designed to guide participants through the process of conducting comprehensive assessments, covering various aspects, including:

  • Understanding the scope boundaries of the assessments.

  • Exploring the materials, metrics, and inputs involved in the life cycle assessment.

  • Identifying and analyzing the environmental impact of materials used in the assessed building or wall system.

  • Determining the specific metrics and indicators used to evaluate the environmental performance of the assessed elements or buildings.

  • Examining and assessing the inputs involved in different life cycle stages:

    • Products (A1 - A3): Materials extraction, manufacturing, and transportation.

    • Construction (A4 - A5): Building construction processes and site activities.

    • In-Use (B1 - B6): Energy consumption, water usage, maintenance, etc.

    • End-of-Use (C1 - C4): Demolition, disposal, recycling, or reuse of materials.

  • Analyzing the collected data to quantify the environmental impacts associated with the assessed building elements or whole buildings.

  • Interpreting the assessment results to understand their significance in sustainability and environmental performance.

  • Creating comprehensive reports that summarize the assessment findings effectively.

These workshops empower users to make informed decisions and promote sustainable building practices by considering the environmental implications throughout the life cycle of building elements or entire buildings.
